This small accessory can be combined with various other accessories to sport a different look each time you step out of your house. If you have read this far, you most probably are a woman!

Being a women, one of the must have accessories is a pashmina scarf. If you don’t have one, you will be most probably pulled up by fashionistas for sacrilege. Apart from keeping you warm, it also doubles up as a stylish accessory. This handy accessory can really enhance your looks and give you the ‘wow’ you are looking for. The best part is that, you can use the scarf over a variety of attire-sweatshirt and jeans, over a jacket or over a skirt. It’s important to pick the right scarf; else you will end up looking like an odd ball. It will also help if you buy two or three so that you can mix and match across your entire wardrobe.

I would suggest you buy these- a simple scarf with subtle embroidery, a plain bright colored scarf and another with a light to medium designs on it. Remember these are just a suggestion and not a hard and fast rule to follow. If you have a particular look in mind or come across something which is really irresistible, go ahead and pick it up! If you get the combination right, you can really look suave and sexy with very minimal effort. The best part is, it doesn’t require you to wear a heavy makeup. I am listing a few simple ways to wear the scarf. Again, remember that you can wear it in your own way!

• Wear it as a classic scarf- yes; just wear it as a scarf. You can wear a sun glasses and carry a chic handbag to complement the look. This also doubles up as an incognito! You can walk past your ex-boyfriend without him noticing it is you! Just ensure that you don’t call out for him or gesture at him.

• Wear the pashmina around your neck, with one end over your shoulder and the other end hanging down. This adds a great look to your neckline.

• Wear the pashmina as a head scarf. If it’s a windy outside, it also ensures that your $100 hair styling session is not a waste. Make sure that you tie it up in the front and hold it in place. Else your scarf won’t save your hair.

• Wear the pashmina as a simple neck scarf. For an elegant and simple look, leave the scarf tied around your neck, along with your jacket or coat. Let the ends of the pashmina dangle down behind you. This is the perfect idea for neck scarf that keeps you warm.

• Wear the pashmina as a big scarf that won’t unravel- Double wrap the pashmina around your neck and pullthrough the loop to turn it into a big scarf that won’t unravel. This keeps you doubly cozy!

Hint: When you go out looking for a pashmina shall, take into consideration your skin complexion. Not all colors suit everyone. Knowing what suits you and what does not goes a long way in the final result. If you have a pale complexion, colors like ivory or beige go well with it. Vivid and vibrant colors go well with darker complexion. A neutral color offers great versatility.

What you wear to an interview can be just as important as the abilities and assets you bring to a job, because an employer is also interested (usually) in the kind of impression you’ll be making on potential clients. You need to project just the right atmosphere of business sense, and there’s certainly such a thing as overdressing when it comes to a business interview.

A woman usually has a life-long habit of dressing to best effect – that is, dressing to accentuate her best features. Now you just need to remember to tone this down a little at that job interview. Of course you want to look attractive, but you also want to ensure that you look capable of doing your job as well.

This means that overly bold colors are out. Should you wear a scarf, for example? As a matter of fact, a scarf is an excellent example – used correctly, it can create the perfect ‘look’ for your interview. So of course you should wear a scarf to an interview – you just need to pay attention to color, and also to the length of your scarf.

Long, trailing scarves are out. Keep the length of your scarf reasonable, and the tone of your scarf simplistic and you just can’t go wrong, because, worn this way, a scarf is such a statement of both elegance and businesslike capability. Better still, a scarf is highly individualistic and eye-catching without being seen as too bold.

I feel that a scarf works best to offset more formal wear – it forms a great combination with pants or a skirt suit. With a completely formal outfit, a restrained scarf provides just the right touch of elegance and a slight informality. Be careful of what ear-rings you choose to go with such an outfit – dangling ear-rings are out. They come across as too showy, if elegant. I like pearl ear-rings or studs instead.

So how do you wear your scarf? Use the most simple of colors, a simple white scarf or a black scarf, and just wrap it around your neck for the best effect. You can also wrap the scarf around your neck so that the two ends meet in front and then tie it like a cravat in front. This style works best with a business jacket, and gives a wonderful effect of professional efficiency.

I particularly like a scarf as a dress accessory at a job interview because it is so versatile and can be used in so many ways. Some other nice ways of wearing a scarf at a job interview would include using it more formally – a men’s tie knot is excellent and very formal, while a slip knot can come across as very demure. Use a scarf to offset formal business wear, and go with your instincts, and you just can’t go wrong.
